Fairmile

Our client owned the site on the outskirts of Henley, within a conservation area, and within an AONB.

Set between two period properties, the plot was regarded to be an important gap that allowed views of ancient woodland and a Grade ii listed wall.  The negotiation process with the local planning authority was lengthy, but our modern design, using natural materials in this semi-rural setting, with bedrooms within the ground with adjoining sunken patios for daylighting, was favourably received by the local planning authority and planning permission has now been granted.
