New Country House

Our client bought the site of the original estate farm house of the Grade 1* listed Harleyford Manor, on the banks of the Thames just outside of Marlow. The area was within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, an historic park and garden and, a Conservation Area.

The estate properties were all designed in the Victorian Gothic style which was distinctive in its interpretation of Gothic by the use of stone and brick arch detailing.

The brief was to design a property to sit comfortably within its historic surroundings but to provide a 21^st Century home of modern construction with subsequent energy efficiency.

The design incorporated stone saved from the original farmhouse, as well as having new stone to replace it where necessary.
